Postdoctoral Research Fellow, CIR, Closing 10 March 2025

Seeking a postdoctoral researcher to develop robotic systems for autonomous medical interventions at the Baillie Gifford Pandemic Science Hub. The role involves designing, prototyping, and integrating sensing and control for lung intervention robotics, with opportunities for research dissemination, mentorship, and professional growth.

This post is full-time (35 hours per week); however, we are open to considering part-time or flexible working patterns. We are also open to considering requests for hybrid working (on a non-contractual basis) that combines a mix of remote and regular on-campus working.  

Your skills and attributes for success:

  • A PhD (or near completion) in robotics, mechanical engineering, design and manufacturing, or closely related fields.
  • An excellent track record of publications in top-tier journals (e.g. IEEE Trans. or broad-interest science venues) and/or conferences in robotics (e.g. R:SS, CoRL, ICRA), or allied areas
  • Hands-on experience of designing and manufacturing robotic systems
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team, to meet deadlines, and to report on project progress

Grade UE07: £40,247 to £47,874 per annum, pro rata if part time
