30 October 2020 Congratulations to Clelia Amato, Magdalena Oremek and Feng Li, creators of the winning videos from the inaugural IRR video competition. Competition entrants were asked to submit engaging video footage that demonstrated ‘science in action’. The winners were chosen by a panel of judges who based their decision on the visual appeal of the footage as well as the accompanying lay description and the potential for the footage to be developed into an engaging videos about the research for a lay audience. All the videos engaged us and left us keen to know more about the research. There was agreement among all judges on the top four but we did like all the entries in different ways. We can see that these videos have a great potential for telling engaging tales of tissue regeneration and repair! Judging panel The winners will now work with the IRR communications team to convert their footage into engaging videos which tell the story of the research. They will also each receive a £50 Blackwells voucher. Many thanks to everyone who entered the competition and to the judging panel: Robin Morton, Science Communications Manager, Centre for Regenerative Medicine; Lana Woolford, Public Engagement & Communications Officer, Centre for Inflammation Research; Faith Davies, Research Fellow, Centre for Genomic and Experimental Medicine; and Nick Kelly, External Engagement and Communications Officer, College of Medicine and Veterinary Medicine. The final videos will be published in 2021. This article was published on 2024-07-08
