The microarray printer uses capillaries to precisely dispense small drops (from 400 picolitres to microlitres) of reagents to inert substrate. The dots can be close enough to create continuous lines or maze. Unlike PRIMO, which restricts cell adhesion to a designed space or volume, the array printer can be used to promote adhesion or chemotaxis to a designed space. Further information can be found on the Scienion website. The microarray printer belongs to the Bachmann lab, who generously shares and operates this instrument. As such, it is run as a service.
