Inflammatory disorders are a major cause of morbidity and mortality worldwide. Moreover, chronic inflammation invariably leads to tissue and organ fibrosis with adverse functional consequences. There is a critical imperative to identify novel therapeutic targets in inflammation, new approaches to imaging inflammation and fibrosis and to move to translate these developments to clinical applications. The Centre's mission is to promote the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of inflammatory diseases through interdisciplinary study of the initiation, regulation and resolution of inflammatory responses and provision of an outstanding environment for research training in the field.
