Specialist equipment

Our facility provides shared instruments that expand outside of classic microscopy.

The plasma cleaner is used to remove impurities and contaminants from surfaces using an energetic plasma in a vacuum chamber.

PRIMO is a micropatterning system mounted on a Nikon Ti2.  It allows for the exquisite patterning and sculpting of cell substrate with a precision down to 2 micrometers.

Chiaro is a nano-indentation module mounted on a Nikon Ti2.  It is used to measure the visco-elastic properties of samples.

The microarray printer uses capillaries to precisely dispense small drops (from 400 picolitres to microlitres) of reagents to inert substrate.

The iCelligence S16 is a small single slide system that works in a tissue culture incubator.

X-Clarity tissue clearing allows large, intact samples to be made transparent for fluorescent labelling and microscopy.

The ZetaView Quatt is a particle analyser designed to visualise, count, quantify size, concentration, and fluorescence, and track biological nanoparticles in suspension.

Our suite of liquid handling robots is designed to standardise multiwell plate handling.

Often, people ask us if we have specific reagents and consumables for pilot experiments, or simply because their order is late.
