The Opportunity: Following the recent award of the Engineering Biology Mission Hub, we are seeking two postdoctoral scientists to lead research projects focussed on development of novel cancer gene therapies. You will be based in the laboratory of Prof Steve Pollard. The Mission Hub focusses on development of novel genetic control switches. This project will focus on innovative approaches to discover and develop anti-tumour payloads for use in novel AAV gene therapy strategies for cancer. The project would suit those with a strong training and track record in areas such as viral gene therapy, synthetic biology, molecular genetics, immunotherapy, and high throughput cell based screening. Any appointment higher than UE07, spinal point 35 may result in reduction of contract length. Your skills and attributes for success: Appropriate undergraduate degree, with relevant post-graduate research experience and accumulated knowledge (e.g. biochemistry, genetics, molecular cell biology)A PhD including appropriate experimental track record in two or more of: molecular genetics, synthetic biology, AAV gene therapy, and cancer or stem cell biology.Advanced molecular biology techniques for plasmid and viral vector construction and screeningAdvanced stem cell and/or cancer stem cell culture systemsGrade UE07: £40,497 to £48,149 per annumCMVM / Clinical Sciences / Centre for Regenerative Medicine Full-time: 35 hours per week Fixed term: 44 months Apply Here This article was published on 2025-04-16
