The Bigger laboratory are looking for a postdoctoral researcher to contribute to phase I/II clinical trials of haematopoietic stem cell gene therapies (HSCGT) for rare neurodegenerative diseases. We have clinical trials for HSCGT therapies already running and in preparation. In this role, you will develop, characterise and qualify critical assays in the specialty areas of lysosomal disease, immunological and gene therapy to support these trials, including at Good Clinical Laboratory Practice (GCLP) standard. The successful candidate will be supported by a research technician who will assist in the delivery of the assays once developed. This post will suit any postdoctoral research associate in gene therapy or related settings who wants to be part of the translation of preclinical therapies into patients, and is the opportunity to become involved in clinical trial delivery at the cutting edge of gene therapy for childhood dementias.This post is full-time (35 hours per week) and will be mainly on-site at our laboratories in the Institute for Regeneration and Repair at the Edinburgh BioQuarter campus.
