Masters by Research

We host Masters by Research programmes in Reproductive Sciences, and Regenerative Medicine & Tissue Repair

The Institute for Regeneration and Repair offers dynamic MSc by Research (MScR) programmes in two specialised areas: Reproductive Sciences, and Regenerative Medicine and Tissue Repair. These one-year, on-campus programmes are designed to provide students with intensive research experience and advanced knowledge in their chosen field.

The Masters by Research programmes aim to train the next generation of experts in regenerative medicine, tissue repair and reproductive health. The programmes prepare you for a career in academia or industry, whether you have recently completed an undergraduate degree or are a professional wanting to pursue a career in research.

The programme delivers cross-disciplinary training in a vibrant research environment to train skilled researchers uniquely equipped to capitalise on regenerative medicine's and reproductive sciences' potential to advance human health.

Programme Structure

  • Research Project: Central to the MScR is the completion of two research projects and a research proposal submission. Students work closely with leading researchers to address key questions in regenerative medicine, tissue repair and reproductive sciences.
  • Research Skills: Students will learn key research skills, including research methodologies, experimental design, and data analysis, equipping students with essential skills for scientific investigation.
  • Masterclasses: Students participate in a series of Masterclasses that support students with their assignments and studies, including dissertation writing, research proposal development, and statistics.
  • Seminars: Students attend seminars specific to their area of study, such as developmental biology, stem cell research, inflammation, repoductive health  and regenerative medicine.
  • Skill Development: The programme emphasises transferable skills, including scientific writing, presentation skills, and critical analysis, preparing graduates for diverse career paths.
