Doors Open Day

Each September, IRR takes part in the Scottish Doors Open Day festival which invites members of the public to places they usually don’t have access to.​

We invite you to meet our scientists, tour our labs, and discover the exciting science happening at the College of Medicine and Veterinary Medicine.​

2025 Doors Open Day

Scientists and other professionals from IRR and across the BioQuarter are paired with local primary schools to make a plan for the year which could involve ‘Science Class Take-Overs’, STEM Clubs, science weeks, fairs – being their science best friend!

A mentoring programme for senior phase high school students, where IRR and BioQuarter researchers volunteer to share their expertise and experience with the young people, as well as supporting them in their academic studies.

Summer Internship

Organised by the BioQuarter Community Engagement team for young people in our local community to develop employment skills, these four-week paid internships are offered each year to local pupils motivated by science.​
