Services and equipment for the biomolecular core lab

Viral vectors are highly versatile delivery vehicles that can manipulate gene expression and fluorescently mark cells both in vitro and in vivo.  We maintain in house trial stocks of lentiviral and recombinant adeno-associated (rAAV) vectors, allowing initial testing in your experimental system before tailoring vectors to your specific project requirements.

Our methods and approach are underpinned by extensive expertise, with many years of hands-on experience and publications. We offer a wide range of customisation options, including:

  • Multiple fluorescent tags
  • Selection of promoters and inducibility
  • Overexpression of your gene of interest or knock-down

We offer lentiviral production as a complete service, including DNA maxi-prep (optional) and viral packaging. A formal quote can be provided once you confirm the amount of lentivirus required.

We offer mass photometry analysis using the Refeyn Two MP, a cutting-edge instrument that measures the mass of individual biomolecules directly in solution. The instrument is ideally suited for particles in the 30 kDa – 5 MDa range, where signal intensity is directly proportional to molecular mass, enabling true mass determination and detailed insight into sample composition.

We offer label-free, real-time biomolecular interaction analysis using the Gator Plus Biolayer Interferometry (BLI) system. This plate-based technique enables rapid and quantitative measurement of binding events between proteins, nucleic acids, antibodies, and other biomolecules.

  • Measurement of binding affinity and kinetics (association and dissociation rates)
  • Analysis of biomolecular interactions and specificity
  • Analyte concentration determination

Gator BioLayer Interferometry instrument used for real-time, label-free measurement of biomolecular interactions.

We offer microfluidic DNA and RNA analysis using the LabChip GX Touch 24, an automated bioanalyzer that replaces traditional slab gels for rapid, high-resolution sizing and quantitation.

Samples are analysed using dedicated software that converts fluorescence signals into electropherograms and virtual gel images, providing accurate fragment size and concentration measurements calibrated against internal ladders and markers.
