Our research supervisors offer personalised guidance and support, empowering students to make significant contributions to their fields. We are committed to nurturing independent researchers ready to tackle global challenges with creativity and rigor.

The University of Edinburgh remains at the forefront of education, upheld by a commitment to quality and student success.

Guidance

While postgraduate study emphasises independent learning, our approachable teaching staff are always available to offer guidance. Research master’s students are paired with a dedicated project supervisor for dedicated support. Research and PhD students benefit from dedicated supervision throughout their degree journey.

Annual progression reviews take account of what training and development opportunities students have undertaken and offer an opportunity to discuss future needs.
