Record levels of investment

  • Total research income: In the fiscal year ending July 31, 2024, the university reported £365.2 million in income from research grants and contracts.
  • Edinburgh Innovations: The university's innovation arm, Edinburgh Innovations, secured over £150 million in research funding in 2025. This funding was used to support a growing portfolio of new companies launched from the University's research.
  • Venture investment: An additional £140 million was invested into the University's portfolio through its in-house venture investment team, Old College Capital, during the same period.
