The position advertised sits within the IRR Single-cell and Spatial Biology Facility at the Institute for Regeneration and Repair, a large multidisciplinary research institute bringing together scientists and clinicians working across regenerative medicine, inflammation research, and reproductive health. The facility supports researchers across the University of Edinburgh as well as external users by providing access to advanced single-cell and spatial transcriptomics technologies and supporting projects from early experimental planning through to data generation. The role is primarily laboratory-based and involves performing single-cell and spatial transcriptomics experiments across a range of technologies. You will work closely with researchers to support their projects by advising on experimental strategy, sample preparation, and workflow selection, and by carrying out the corresponding experiments within the facility.The facility hosts a broad portfolio of platforms including 10X Genomics systems for single-cell and spatial analysis (Chromium, Visium, Xenium), as well as Bruker’s CosMx Spatial Molecular Imager, alongside a range of non-instrument-based single-cell and spatial workflows.
