Title:
Humanizing Women’s Health Research with Living Patient Avatars

Short bio:
Lauren Pruett is a senior postdoctoral researcher in the Department of Biological Engineering and Center for Gynepathology Research at Massachusetts Institute of Technology working under the mentorship of Dr. Linda Griffith. Her research focuses on engineering synthetic matrices to enable a microphysiological model of vascularized endometriosis lesions that can be used for drug testing, with an eye toward developing vascularized models for a range of other diseases. The Griffith lab is part of the Center for Gynepathology Research at MIT which brings together clinicians and engineers to foster both clinical and basic science research in endometriosis, adenomyosis, and other diseases of the female reproductive tract.
