He obtained his European PhD at the University of Gothenburg and the University of Valencia under the supervision of Prof Mats Brannstrom, where he was part of the first team achieving the first live birth after uterus transplantation in humans.His scientific career has been devoted to the field of reproductive surgery and fertility preservation, with special interest on ovarian cortex transplantation, uterus transplantation, follicular activation and poor response in IVF, having conducted multiple clinical trials and publishing more than 100 peer-reviewed papers on these subjects.He moved to the UK in 2017 to take over the medical direction and HFEA-PR of IVIRMA London. Since 2024, he works as a consultant in Reproductive Medicine at the Glasgow Royal Infirmary and, the New Victoria Hospital, and the University of Glasgow. He is also the Chief Medical Officer for IVIRMA Global in the UK and the Nordic countries.
