Bio:

Saghi Ghaffari MD-PhD is a Professor in Cell, Developmental and Regenerative Biology and a member of Black Family Stem Cell Institute and Tisch Cancer Institute. Dr. Ghaffari is a stem cell biologist with expertise in blood and blood disorders. She was trained in medicine and obtained her medical degree (Doctorat D'Etat) in Paris, France, before completing her PhD in Vancouver, Canada. She was a clinical scientist at the Whitehead Institute for Biomedical Research at MIT in Cambridge, MA, after which she joined the faculty of the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai.
